The cap helps keep the oil contained on the pummus and not all over your other items. Though, ive not found the pen to leak as the cap is dry (not full of oil).

The oil is good quality, not sticky or too dry. The dispenser, with the pusher, is just fantastic. Once you twist the little twister, pushing your cuticles is nice and gentle with no discomfort, and you're left with the perfect amount of oil on your nails and cuticles. I haven't had any leaks or mess with the pen, either which is awesome. It doesn't use a ton either so it seems like this will last a good amount of time. The oil ""dries"" quickly but your nails and cuticles feel moisturized for hours afterward. "
This cuticle pusher pen is an all in one pen that contains cuticle oil and a pusher all wrapped up in one compact package. it’s easy to transport and works well to nourish the cuticles and push them back before painting my nails. i was previously using a cuticle oil and a separate pusher, and this pen is much easier to use and store than separate tubes and tools. it leaves my nails looking professional and reduces the number of hangnails i get. i’ve been using this for two weeks and have not had any skin irritation from using this.
"i've been really focused lately on nail care and especially trying to grow and strengthen my natural nails; Cuticle care is a big part of that and i ordered these cuticle oil/cuticle pusher pens because it seemed like a very convenient tool to both apply the oil and shape the cuticle at the same time.
The pens themselves are simple in design, made with plastic with a reservoir containing the oil and a hard, pumice like cuticle pusher on one end while a twisting cap on the other end dispenses the oil. The oil flows easily through the pusher tip when the end is twisted but does not leak when not actively dispensing oil. The oil itself smells so fragrantly of lavendar and is super moisturizing. You will want to be sure to allow the cuticle to be saturated in oil before pushing to avoid damage to skin and nail beds, so this isn't really much faster than using a separate pusher and bottle of oil, but i do really like the precision application and how portable these are!
